Most review apps collect reviews by emailing people after delivery. That’s a different job from what this doable does: here, someone is on your site right now haggling over a price, and you’re offering money off in exchange for a review of something they already own.
For that you need a link anyone can open and type into. Here’s how to get one.
Judge.me
Judge.me calls these review links, and they’re built for exactly this.
- In your Shopify admin, open Judge.me → Settings.
- Go to Request reviews → Links, QR codes and point of sale review collection.
- Pick the scope you want:
- Store review link — a review of your shop overall. Best fit for this doable, because the shopper picks what to talk about.
- All products page link — the shopper chooses a product first, then reviews it.
- Specific product — only if the doable is on a campaign for that one product.
- Click Copy link to clipboard.
The link looks like https://judge.me/product_reviews/…/new?source=shareable-link.
Judge.me’s review links are public by design: anyone who opens one can submit a review, whether or not they’ve ordered. Reviews that come in this way aren’t marked “verified” unless Judge.me can match them to an order. That’s the correct trade-off here — you’re asking real customers, and the unverified badge is honest about what the app can prove.
Loox
Loox is photo-first and built around post-purchase emails, so the equivalent flow lives in its review-request settings rather than as a standalone public link. Open Loox → Review requests and look for a shareable or manual request option.
If you can’t find one on your plan, use the fallback below — it works with any review app that has an on-page review widget.
Any review app: build the page yourself
This works everywhere and takes five minutes.
- Shopify admin → Online Store → Pages → Add page.
- Title it something plain: Write a review.
- Write two lines: what you’d like them to review, and that it takes a minute.
- Save, then open the page in the theme editor and add your review app’s review form or write a review block to it.
- Your link is
https://yourstore.com/pages/write-a-review.
You now own the page. It survives you switching review apps, and it keeps the shopper on your domain, where the widget can pick the conversation back up.
Paste it into Symbiotic
- Symbiotic → Doables → Review something you bought → Add.
- Paste the link into Link to open.
- 6% is our default — a review takes real effort and is worth more than a follow.
- Save, then Turn on.
A word on honesty
Ask for a review, not a good one. Say so in the reward message: “Tell us what you actually thought — good or bad, we’ll take the honest version.” Reviews you bought with a discount and a wink are worth less than no reviews, and shoppers can smell them.
Troubleshooting
The link asks for an order number. You’ve copied a request link meant for one customer, not a public review link. Go back and use the store or all-products link.
Reviews come in without photos. Different doable — see Ask for a photo review.
