Pricing & product FAQ
How is this different from a coupon popup?
Symbiotic lets shoppers negotiate or complete an action for a discount. You choose the products, actions and discount limits, so you can run offers without reducing the displayed price for everyone.
How do I control the lowest price?
Set a maximum negotiation discount, then a separate limit for extra rewards. You can also set minimum selling prices for products or collections. The campaign review shows the largest possible discount before you save. Final product prices stay at least 5% of the original price, and any higher minimum selling price still applies.
Does AI decide the price?
No. Counteroffers follow your saved pricing rules, including discount limits and bargaining style. AI can help draft chat messages during setup, which you can review and edit.
Do you check that someone actually followed us?
Symbiotic does not verify social follows or likes. Shoppers open your link and confirm when they are done. Cart goals are checked at checkout, and optional review or Discord connections can confirm supported actions. Choose rewards you are comfortable granting on that basis.
What counts as a negotiation?
Each new negotiation counts once, regardless of how many offers follow. Starter includes 1,000 per month, Growth includes 50,000, and Scale is unlimited. New negotiations pause when you reach your monthly limit.
Does the shopper have to type a discount code?
No. The deal’s single-use discount code is applied on the way to checkout. It has product restrictions and expires with the deal timer. Cart rewards also depend on the cart meeting their requirements. Saved codes are checked again before reuse; if availability cannot be confirmed, the shopper sees a retry message.
Can I use Symbiotic discount codes in Shopify Rollouts?
Yes, with limits. Shopify Rollouts can schedule discounts alongside store changes or offer them to a share of shoppers. Before reusing a saved code, Symbiotic checks its current availability. We support simple rollout activations that reach 100% of shoppers; partial-audience tests and rollouts that also change themes, catalogs or checkout settings are withheld. If availability cannot be confirmed, the shopper sees a retry message. Approve the Rollouts read permission when Shopify asks. You manage rollouts in Shopify; Symbiotic does not create or edit them. Shopify’s normal discount requirements still apply.
Do cart offers need Shopify Plus?
No. Cart rewards work on standard Shopify plans. Only the feature that displays deal details inside checkout requires Shopify Plus and the Symbiotic Scale plan.
Can a shopper negotiate the same product twice?
Growth and Scale let you enable repeat negotiations in a campaign. On Free and Starter, each shopper gets one negotiation per product. Returning shoppers may still earn available action rewards.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 100 negotiations a month on one live campaign, with the same price limits, reward types and AI-written messages as the paid plans. No card is needed, and there is no time limit. When you want more volume or more campaigns, move up from inside the app.
How does Symbiotic handle accessibility and personal data?
The chat supports keyboards, screen readers and reduced motion. Email and SMS sign-ups are optional, contact details are encrypted, and consent records keep the wording shoppers accepted. See our privacy policy for data retention and deletion details.
