A review doable is granted on trust: the shopper taps “I did it” and we have no way of knowing whether a review arrived. Connect the review app you already use and that changes — when the review lands, the completion is marked verified.

What connecting changes

Once a review app is connected, the review doables ask for one extra thing: the email the shopper will review with. That is the only way to match a review back to a claim.

That address is stored as a hash and nothing else. It is not added to any marketing list, no consent is recorded for it, and once a review matches, the hash is replaced by the review’s own id — we stop holding it the moment it has done its job.

Judge.me

  1. Symbiotic → Integrations → Judge.me, enter your store domain (usually yourstore.myshopify.com) and click Connect.
  2. Copy the webhook URL that appears. It is shown once — it is stored hashed, like a password.
  3. In your Shopify admin, open Judge.me → Settings → Integrations → Webhooks.
  4. Add a webhook, paste the URL, and subscribe to review/created. Add review/published too if you moderate reviews before they go live.
  5. Save.

Judge.me’s payload carries the reviewer’s email and your shop_domain. We match on the first and sanity-check the second, which is what catches a URL pasted into the wrong store’s account.

Loox

  1. Symbiotic → Integrations → Loox, enter your store domain, click Connect, copy the URL.
  2. In Loox, find the webhook or outgoing-integration setting and paste it in, subscribing to new reviews.

Loox moves this setting around more than Judge.me does and it is not available on every plan. If you can’t find it, the doable keeps working on trust — you lose the confirmation, not the doable.

Any other review app

The endpoint accepts plain JSON. If your review app can POST to a URL when a review is submitted, point it at the Judge.me URL from step 1 and it will work, as long as the payload contains the reviewer’s email somewhere. We look for any field whose name contains “email” and whose value looks like an address.

Reading the results

Completions are split in your reports:

  • Trusted — we took the shopper’s word.
  • Pending — claimed, and we’re waiting to hear from your review app.
  • Verified — the review arrived and matched.

A healthy store has some of all three. If everything sits at Pending forever, the webhook isn’t firing — re-check step 3. If most claims never match, shoppers are reviewing under a different address than the one they typed, which is common and worth knowing.

Rotating the URL

If you think the webhook URL leaked, Symbiotic → Integrations → Rotate webhook URL mints a new one. The old one stops working immediately, so update your review app in the same sitting.

What it can’t do

It cannot tell whether the review was positive, and it does not try. Rewarding a good review rather than a review breaks the review platform’s rules and, in Google’s case, has got sellers’ review counts wiped. Ask for honesty and pay for honesty.
