A private Telegram channel has an invite link that you can revoke; a public one has a
permanent t.me/ address. For a storefront doable you want the public one — it’s stable, it
looks like a brand, and it survives you tidying up your invites later.
Give the channel a public username
- Open Telegram and go to your channel.
- Tap the channel name at the top to open Channel info.
- Tap Edit (pencil icon).
- Tap Channel type and choose Public.
- Pick a link — Telegram checks availability as you type. Use your brand name if you can get it.
- Save.
Your link is now https://t.me/yourchannelname.
If you’d rather stay private
Private channels work too. In Channel info → Edit → Invite links, create a link with no
expiry and no user limit, then copy it. It will look like https://t.me/+AbCdEf123456.
The trade-off: anyone can forward a private invite link, and revoking it breaks the doable for everyone. A public username can’t be forwarded anywhere it doesn’t already work.
Paste it into Symbiotic
- Symbiotic → Doables → Join our Telegram → Add.
- Paste the link into Link to open.
- Set the reward (3% is our default) and Save, then Turn on.
Troubleshooting
“Link is already taken.” Someone has the username. Telegram does release names from long-dormant accounts, but not on request — pick a variant instead.
Shoppers on desktop see a “Open in Telegram” page. That’s normal and it’s fine. The link opens the app if it’s installed and the web version if it isn’t.
