This one is for brands with something on Spotify: a label, an artist, a branded playlist, or a podcast. If you have none of those, skip it — a follow doable pointing at someone else’s music earns you nothing.
Copy the link
On desktop or in the app:
- Open Spotify and go to your artist page, show page, or playlist.
- Click the ⋯ (More) button under the title.
- Choose Share.
- Pick the right one:
- Copy link to artist →
https://open.spotify.com/artist/… - Copy link to show (podcasts) →
https://open.spotify.com/show/… - Copy link to playlist →
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/…
- Copy link to artist →
On the web player, the same ⋯ → Share → Copy link appears next to the play button.
Strip anything after a
?before pasting. Spotify appends a tracking parameter like?si=abc123that identifies you as the sharer. The link works fine without it.
Which one to use
| You have | Use | Doable |
|---|---|---|
| An artist profile | Copy link to artist | Follow us on Spotify |
| A podcast | Copy link to show | Follow our podcast |
| A playlist you curate | Copy link to playlist | Follow us on Spotify |
A playlist follow is the underrated one: it costs a shopper nothing, it sits in their library, and every time you add a track you’re back in front of them.
Paste it into Symbiotic
- Symbiotic → Doables → Follow us on Spotify (or Follow our podcast) → Add.
- Paste the link into Link to open.
- Set the reward and Save, then Turn on.
Troubleshooting
The link opens the web player instead of the app. That’s Spotify’s own behaviour on desktop browsers, and the Follow button works there too. On phones the app takes over.
You want to verify the follow actually happened. Spotify’s API can confirm a follow, but only through an app you register and only after the shopper signs in with Spotify. That’s a bigger build than a link, and it’s on our roadmap rather than in the product today.
