A referral reward gives a shopper a link to share with a friend. The shopper earns their reward when they confirm sharing. A friend who opens the link can receive the welcome discount you set.
A shared link does not guarantee an extra order. Use the referral results on the dashboard to see what happened afterwards.
Set it up
- Open Symbiotic → Doables → Refer a friend → Add.
- Set the reward for the person sharing. The editable default is 6%.
- Save and turn it on.
- Open your campaign’s Rewards for shopper actions step.
- Set Welcome discount for referred friends. The default is 5%; set it to 0 if you want only the person sharing to receive a reward.
- Review the combined discount and save the campaign.
What shoppers see
- The shopper selects Get my link.
- Symbiotic creates a link to the product they are viewing.
- They share it and confirm the action to receive the reward.
- An eligible friend who visits through the link receives the configured welcome discount when starting a negotiation.
The original shopper does not have to wait for the friend to buy. The dashboard records referred orders separately when order tracking is available.
How the limits work
The sharing reward counts toward the original shopper’s campaign reward limit. The welcome discount counts toward the friend’s reward limit on their own negotiation.
If the friend completes more actions, those rewards use the amount still available under their limit. Review the reward limit together with the negotiation discount. Minimum selling prices still apply.
Referral links expire after 60 days and can welcome up to 25 friends. A shopper cannot use their own link to receive a welcome reward. Only one welcome reward is available per shopper per product.
Review the results
Open Symbiotic → Dashboard to compare links created, welcome discounts, referred orders and revenue. A link with no orders may simply not have reached an interested buyer; the figures alone do not explain why.
